Curaçao General Practitioner Post criticizes Doctors’ Association over survey dispute

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao General Practitioner Post (Huisartsenpost, HAP) issued a strongly worded statement on Sunday, criticizing the Curaçao General Practitioners Association (CHV). The HAP defended the results of a recent survey, which they described as positive, and accused the CHV of making "desperate attempts" to discredit their work.

The CHV previously claimed that many of its members had not been contacted for the survey, calling the results misleading and unreliable. In response, the HAP asserted that all general practitioners had been reached by phone and pointed out that the CHV has unsuccessfully attempted to establish its own general practitioner post for the past twenty years.

The HAP also suggested that a small faction within the CHV is using political means to undermine their position. Despite the ongoing tensions, the HAP stated that they remain open to collaborating with individual doctors. The matter is currently under investigation by the Health Care Inspectorate.
