WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) has announced that in deliberation with the Netherlands (for Bonaire) and Aruba, the airspace will be closed for all Boeing aircraft type 737-8 MAX and 737-9 MAX. This is related to the recent accidents involving this type of aircraft.
The consequence of this decision is that airlines that use this type of aircraft will have to use a different type if they want to enter this airspace.
There are several other countries that have taken the same measure. The announcement was made through a so-called Notice to All Airman (NOTAM) on March 12 at 18:30.
