Curaçao clergy against homosexual court president

WILLEMSTAD - The association of Christian Clergy (APK) in Curaçao expresses itself against the nomination of a new president of the Common Court of Justice. "How can the population have confidence in the court if an openly homosexual man is nominated as a court president," writes the APK in a press release.

The Court is already full of activist judges who comply with their own ideology, with which the state scheme is reinterpreted. According to church pastors, there is no question of equal cases and therefore equal treatment, as the court proposes.

The clergymen also react against the court ruling which states that the government must treat couples of the same sex as heterosexual couples. This took place last month. In the absence of same-sex marriage, the government must at least enter the registered partnership so that all couples can count on equal treatment.

The APK speaks of 'activist judges' that enable same-sex marriage. The clergymen speak of Hungary as an example that deserves to be followed. It was, according to the press release, "hysterical gays" who demonstrated against homophobic legislation in Europe.
