Curaçao Civil Servants Begin Professional Trainer Development Program

WILLEMSTAD – A new chapter in public sector development has begun as the Professional Trainer Development Program was officially launched for a selected group of Curaçao government civil servants. The initiative kicked off with an inspiring event held on April 17 at Amazia, where participants were introduced to the program, the trainers, and each other. The training officially begins on May 15.

The goal of the program is to train and certify 25 internal government trainers, equipping them to support their colleagues in professional development and strengthen the capabilities of the civil service.

Selected and Prepared for Impact

Following a rigorous selection process that included assessments and interviews, 25 civil servants were chosen for this intensive learning trajectory. Over the next several months, they will develop didactic, communication, and practical training skills under the guidance of experienced trainers and learning specialists.

The training includes modules on giving constructive feedback, active teaching techniques, and presenting effectively with the use of training actors for realistic simulations.

Government Invests in Internal Capacity

This initiative reflects the Curaçao government's commitment to sustainable knowledge development within the public sector. By training its own staff to become professional trainers, the government not only supports individual growth, but also aims to improve the overall quality of public services.

The program will conclude in December with a practical final assignment and evaluation, ensuring that participants are fully prepared to step into their roles as internal training facilitators.
