WILLEMSTAD - The Crowdfunding for Gerrit Schotte has been taken offline. The page on GoFundMe is no longer available. Gerrit Schotte's family started the campaign to help Schotte financially pay the 1.8 million guilders to the Public Prosecution Service.

The former prime minister was sentenced to three years in prison for, among other things, corruption and money laundering. This decision led to a confiscation case in which Schotte was ordered to pay 1.8 million guilders that the court had wrongly received.

If the former prime minister does not pay the money, he will receive an extra three-year prison sentence.

The Crowdfunding stood at 400 guilders in May.
