WILLEMSTAD – An internal investigation by Cpost has revealed that there is no evidence suggesting that the distribution of election ballots on Curaçao was carried out in a disorganized manner.
This follows reports last week in the media about ballots being found around the Piscaderaweg area. As part of the investigation, Cpost spoke with the citizen who discovered the four ballots on the street. During the investigation, three additional ballots were found in the area. All the discovered ballots have since been delivered to the correct correspondence address. However, this address does not have a mailbox, so the ballots should have been returned to the Cpost office instead.
Cpost expanded its investigation beyond the Piscaderaweg area, looking into other neighborhoods across Curaçao. Based on the findings, the conclusion was made that there is no indication that the ballot distribution process was chaotic or poorly organized.
Cpost has now completed the ballot distribution and will provide a report to the Electoral Council (KSE), detailing the number of undelivered ballots and the reasons for the delivery issues.
