Court of Auditors: government procurement unsound

WILLEMSTAD - The government makes a mess of public procurement. This can be deduced from a report from the Court of Audit. In 228 cases between 2010 and 2015, the court did not investigate whether tenders were correct or not.

All in all, it involves more than 175 million guilders. The lack of orderly and controllable management and insufficient compliance with the rules leave room for abuse.

The Court of Audit says that the government may therefore have spent more money than it should have.
