WILLEMSTAD - The world renown vacation specialist Corendon is ready to start the construction of its new hotel in Curaçao. The demolition of the past few months has ended and the site in Otrabanda where the former Hotel Venetto was located, has been cleaned.
On February 22, owner Atilay Uslu and his sister Gunay Uslu, director of development of the tour operator, will officially initiate the construction of the main building. According to Corendon, the construction will be in two phases, but the result will be 800 rooms extra for the island. In phase one the company will build 380 rooms and in phase two another 420.
The first phase is scheduled to open at the end of December 2019 and the rest will follow in December 2020. An investment of 85 million dollars is involved. Corendon will do the exploitation itself and the organization expects to have between 350 and 400 employees at the end of phase two.
