WILLEMSTAD – On January 31st, the Consular Corps of Curaçao held its Annual General Meeting at the Avila Beach Resort, where a new board was elected to lead the organization in 2025.
The newly appointed board members are:
Mr. Ralph Obersi, Honorary Consul of Mexico – Dean
Mrs. Maria Luisa Ubiera Zorrilla, Consul General of the Dominican Republic – Vice-Dean
Mr. Roberto Ibarra, Vice-Consul of the Dominican Republic – Secretary
Mr. Kurt Jackson, Honorary Consul of Jamaica – Treasurer
Mrs. Lisanne Asjes, Honorary Consul of Sweden – Board Member
After the election, Dean Ralph Obersi expressed his gratitude to the outgoing board for their dedicated work in 2024, extending special appreciation to Honorary Consul of Italy, Kathryn Pruneti, for her valuable contributions as a past board member. He also thanked the consular members in attendance for their vote of confidence and trust.
Obersi outlined the new board’s objectives for 2025, highlighting plans to increase outreach events, organize fundraisers for the Uniting for Children Foundation, and strengthen engagement with the government and other key organizations representing the interests of the consular corps.
The newly elected Dean emphasized the board’s openness to new ideas and constructive suggestions that could further enhance the effectiveness of the organization. He closed his remarks by encouraging all members to participate actively in the planned events and meetings throughout the year.
