Confirmed: First monkeypox infection registered on Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - The first infection of monkey pox was registered on Curaçao on Friday. This is confirmed by the Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN).  

 

The person in question came back from abroad. The first test taken on Monday turned out to be positive. A second test was administered and sent to the Netherlands for further investigation. The ministry has announced that the second final result is also positive.  

 

The person is in isolation and the epidemiology department (EPI) is taking the necessary measures to prevent further spread.
