Concrete industry Brievengat 'prints' homes with 3D concrete printer

WILLEMSTAD - Betonindustrie Brievengat (BIB), in collaboration with CyBe Construction, has printed the first buildings with a 3D concrete printer. The first two homes will serve as models.

CyBe Construction is a Dutch technology provider. In 2014, the company created printable cement and started training with a 3D concrete printer four years later. Recently, three employees of Betonindustrie Brievengat were trained by the CyBe team to operate the purchased 3D printer.

“Where traditional building solutions are complex and time-consuming, 3D printing offers solutions to develop complex shapes,” says BIB. The printer automates construction processes and saves considerable time and money. “With this innovation, we want to tap into a completely new market where affordable yet sustainable and modern homes are possible.”
