Complaint filed against Member of Parliament Menki Rojer for sedition

“They have to be liquidated and filleted. Cut their throats and throw them on the ground.” According to Rojer, he would have quoted someone else.

WILLEMSTAD - An unknown person has recently filed a complaint against Member of Parliament for the opposition party Korsou di Nos Tur, Meindert ‘Menki’ Rojer. The parliamentarian had to report to the police station today. Police spokesman Imro Zwerwer explains the reason why the MP was summoned by the police. After the interrogation, he was allowed to return home.

Sedition can be seen as incitement to criminal offenses or even violence against - in this case - public authorities, or the Rhuggenaath government. The reason for the complaint is a comment that Rojer would have posted on Facebook: “They must be liquidated and filleted. Cut their throats and throw them on the ground.”

The parliamentarian stands firm and denies that the words were chosen by him. He said he quoted someone else.
