WILLEMSTAD - If the government of Curaçao complies with what the Financial Supervision Board insists on, namely, to adjust the 2019 budget by at least 29 million guilders, this will result in an increase of 132 million guilders.
A calculation of the Central Bank of Curacao and Sint Maarten shows that the economy will decrease by 1.8 percent compared to the previous growth estimate of 0.4 percent. That is what Finance Minister Kenneth Gijsbertha writes in a not yet published letter of January 30 to the chairman of the Board Financial Supervision Raymond Gradus.
