WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao meteorological service issues code yellow for extreme Sahara dust. The precautionary notice is in effect from Wednesday morning to Thursday morning.

People with allergies can be bothered by the dust. In some, it can even cause breathing difficulties. The dust also limits visibility, which can be dangerous in traffic.

The meteorological service provides several precautions. For example, they advise everyone to stay at home as much as possible with closed windows, to use anti-allergic agents if necessary, to keep the windows of the car closed, and to put on a facemask.
