CMC introduces cutting-edge disinfection technology

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) has unveiled state-of-the-art equipment for disinfecting medical devices. Known as the UV Smart Impelux D60, this technology is set to revolutionize sanitation practices within the hospital.

What sets this equipment apart is its utilization of Impelux technology, which harnesses the power of UV rays for disinfection purposes. Specifically designed for canal-less flexible scopes and probes, commonly used in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, the UV Smart Impelux D60 ensures thorough and efficient sanitation, particularly crucial in surgical settings.

CMC's acquisition of this cutting-edge technology marks a milestone for healthcare in the Americas, as it becomes the sole hospital in the region to have access to this advanced disinfection system. This development underscores CMC's commitment to staying at the forefront of medical innovation and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

One of the key benefits of the UV Smart Impelux D60 is its ability to streamline the disinfection process, thereby freeing up resources for other essential medical equipment. By expediting the cleaning and disinfection of ENT scopes, the hospital can optimize its operations and enhance efficiency in the Endoscopy department.

Since obtaining the UV Smart Impelux D60 on April 8th, CMC has wasted no time in integrating it into its operations. Staff underwent comprehensive training on April 10th, and validation procedures were conducted on April 15th and 16th by a technician from Pentax, in collaboration with CMC's MT department.
