Clash with the Netherlands: Rutte wants to help the island, but not just like that

WILLEMSTAD - Dutch Prime Minister Rutte wants to help Curaçao affected by corona crisis and other setbacks such as the political situation in Venezuela and the closure of oil company Isla. Premier Rutte says that the Netherlands is willing to help but only under conditions. Curaçao has great difficulty with the proposed financial reforms.

"It will be exciting," said Curaçao's Prime Minister Eugène Rhuggenaath. He is referring to the meeting of the Kingdom Council of Ministers. He will talk on Friday about the conditions for more support for the Caribbean island that has been floored by the corona pandemic.

Support that should also come for the no less afflicted Aruba and Sint Maarten.
