CITRO salvages stranded ship at Blue Bay

WILLEMSTAD - Rescue organization CITRO salvaged a boat that was stranded at Blue Bay on Tuesday. The boat had run into difficulties earlier in the afternoon due to engine problems and hit the rocks.

Those on board were able to bring themselves to safety. At the request of the Rescue Coordination Center, CITRO set out to salvage the wreck.

The rescue organization pulled the ship free and brought it to higher shore before it could sink. The wreck was towed to the harbor in Piscadera Bay.
