Children's Festival celebrates inclusion with over 1,300 attendees

WILLEMSTAD - The sixth edition of the Wintertuin Curaçao Kids Festival attracted more than 1,300 visitors this year. The island's largest children's festival focused on inclusion, with the theme "Nan tambe tei" (They Are Also Here). Children from all backgrounds and abilities enjoyed a day of fun and creativity this past Saturday at The Curaçao Museum.

The festival offered numerous activities, ranging from an exciting relay race to an energetic breakdancing workshop. A record number of young participants expressed their creativity during writing workshops, craft sessions, and "project painting." What made this year especially remarkable was the involvement of children with mental or physical disabilities, who also had a wonderful time participating in various activities.

The highlight of the day was a joint parade in which all the children, regardless of background or disability, danced together. This display of inclusivity and unity perfectly reflected the festival's theme. The organization's goal was clear: to embrace diversity and promote a world where everyone is valued and recognized.

The organizers look back proudly on a successful event and are already preparing for the seventh edition of the festival, which will return next year with an entirely new lineup. To make this possible, local sponsors' support is crucial. Anyone interested in contributing can contact the festival through Wintertuin Curaçao's social media channels.

In addition to the children's festival, the Wintertuin Curaçao Festival, a literary event, will take place this Saturday, September 21, at Landhuis Vredenberg.
