Caribbean Vocational Schools Join Forces Under New Kingdom-Wide Consortium

WILLEMSTAD – Vocational education institutions in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands will now collaborate on a structural basis. During a two-day conference held in Curaçao, representatives from schools across the CAS islands (Curaçao, Aruba, and Sint Maarten) and the Caribbean Netherlands (Bonaire, Saba, and Sint Eustatius) signed a letter of intent to establish the Caribbean Vocational Education Council of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (CVECK).

The goal of the consortium is to strengthen the quality of education for all students on all islands by combining expertise and exchanging best practices. By working together, schools aim to better address shared challenges, improve student mobility between islands, and offer a smoother transition into further education and the labor market.

The initiative also seeks to build partnerships with the Consortium for Vocational Education in the European Netherlands, ensuring a closer alignment between the Caribbean and European parts of the Kingdom in vocational training.

This regional alliance marks a significant step toward a more unified and future-ready vocational education system, offering broader opportunities for students and strengthening the workforce throughout the Dutch Caribbean.
