Candidate Minister not suitable for position, according to President Central Bank

WILLEMSTAD - According to a memo sent by the president ad interim of the Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten (CBCS), Leila Matroos-Lasten, the proposed candidate for the position of Minister of Economic Development, Mrs. Neysa Schoop-Iseniais not suitable for the job.

In a 2014 internal mail correspondence, it is judged by CBCS officials that Schoop-Isenia acted in violation of internal and general rules of good business conduct when she worked at Girobank. It is not clear whether there are criminal offenses. These must first be clarified, and the facts are being investigated.

The CBCS employee who refers to Schoop-Isenia in the internal message would classify her behavior as "no longer with integrity".

Schoop-Isenia no longer works for Girobank but is a financial expert at the executive level of utility company Aqualectra.
