Breaking news: Employee at MCB Bank tested positive for coronavirus

WILLEMSTAD - Maduro & Curiel’s Bank announced on its Facebook page that one of its employees tested positive for the coronavirus. This employee works at the Rio Canario branch. The last day the employee was at work was on Monday, August 17, 2020.

For this reason, the management of the bank made the decision to close the Rio Canario branch immediately until further notice. The bank has started a deep cleaning process and to disinfect the building.

The bank also announces that in consultation with epidemiologist Dr. Gerstenbluth and his team, the decision was made to put all employees of the Rio Canario branch under a mandatory 14-day quarantine. The bank laments this situation.

The bank indicated that they are working with the health authorities on the specific case and the situation in general. The bank will comply with all requirements and they ask the community in general to also do this.

“In times like this, we need to show understanding, follow instructions and take care of our health. Adjust our actions to keep ourselves, our beloved ones, and those around us safe,” says the bank in their announcement.

Curaçao Chronicle is still waiting for the government to give more details about this case.
