Bonaire Commissioner visits Prime Minister Rhuggenaath

KRALENDIJK, WILLEMSTAD - Commissioner Elvis Tjin Asjoe has paid a short working visit to Curaçao. Among other things, he spoke with Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath and the Representative of the Netherlands in Willemstad Erwin Arkenbout.

“Between Bonaire and Curaçao, our shared history and proximity have existed for centuries close and warm ties, economic, cultural and family. I have conveyed to Prime Minister Rhuggenaath the wish of our Executive Council to jointly explore the opportunities for cooperation that we still have left unused,” said the commissioner.

“As neighboring islands we face the same major challenges as fighting poverty, strengthening the economy, protecting nature and the environment. Prime Minister Rhuggenaath shares our motto that you can achieve more through cooperation.”

Commissioner Tjin Asjoe has invited the Prime Minister of Curaçao to be present at the Kickoff conference Master Plan 2030 to be held in November.

The commissioner was also a guest in the broadcast of the popular television program "Mòru Bon Dia" in which he told about the ambition of Bonaire to become the first "Blue destination" in the world.
