Body Found in Curaçao Reveals Drug Smuggling Incident

WILLEMSTADThe remains of a young woman discovered in Sabana Hundu earlier this week contained at least 50 drug pellets in her stomach, local authorities revealed. The body, found Tuesday afternoon wrapped in cloth and in an advanced state of decomposition, sheds light on a tragic case of suspected drug smuggling.

One of the pellets had ruptured, which caused the woman’s death, according to investigators. The victim’s identity remains unknown, and DNA testing is underway to provide conclusive identification.

Curaçao continues to face cases of drug trafficking, with incidents like this appearing in court approximately every two weeks. Most involve individuals transporting drug packages under harsh and risky conditions, often at the cost of their lives.

Authorities are using this case to highlight the dangers and to reaffirm their commitment to combating drug smuggling operations on the island. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
