Aspiring Coast Guards complete introduction weeks

WILLEMSTAD - Last Friday, the aspirants of the new Coast Guard Basic Training (BOK) marched into the Naval Base Parera after four intensive weeks of introduction. The 22 aspirants from Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten all have a goal, a career with the Coast Guard.

During the introduction weeks, the young people camped for four weeks under the guidance of the instructors in various 'mondis' (woods), marched for miles, swam, cooked, built rafts, followed programs in the classroom as well as completed amphibious exercises.


This week the aspirants will start the next part of the Coast Guard Basic Training.
