Aruba not yet ready for signing

WILLEMSTAD - The government of Aruba is not yet ready to sign an agreement with the Netherlands on financing and sustainable cooperation. That reports the Aruban news website "NoticiaCla" based on sources within the Aruban government.

Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath hopes to reach a final agreement with the Netherlands during a meeting of the Kingdom Council of Ministers in the Netherlands on Friday. Aruba seemed to be close to the same deal for a long time, but the two countries have not yet come close enough.

Aruba now assumes that an agreement can be signed with The Hague during the National Council of Ministers on November 13. On July 7 of this year, the Netherlands sent a package of measures to the governments of Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten to reach agreements about a new loan. The Netherlands also wants to invest in the three countries.
