WILLEMSTAD - Avalon University successfully conducted the Third Annual Academic Symposium of Avalon (AASA), 2019 in the Hilton hotel, Curacao on Saturday, July 27th, 2019. The opening inaugural speech was given by the research committee chair of Avalon University School of Medicine Dr. Jeyaseelan. The closing remarks were presented by Avalon University's Executive Dean, Dr. Sateesh Arja.
The venue was held at the Hilton Hotel and hosted by the collaborative efforts of research and ethics committee of Avalon, Avalon students, faculty, and physicians. Students do not only orchestrate the event but also participated as presenters and audience members. Topics this year include various issues on Public Health.
AASA is an excellent platform for external speakers, students, and faculty to disseminate their scholarly work. Avalon students and faculty presented abstracts and oral presentations. For this year symposium, the school had Dr. Sirving Keli, Professor of Public Health & Sector Director of Public Health, and Ms. Soraya Verstaeten, a researcher in Public Health as guest speakers.
