Amount LNT increased by nearly 100,000 guilders

WILLEMSTAD - Minister Javier Silvania of Finance intends to increase the maximum permitted amount under the National Ordinance on the Standardization of Top Incomes by nearly 100,000 guilders per year. On Monday, the minister submitted a draft regulation for the standardization of top incomes to the Legislation and Legal Affairs Department (WJZ), which he posted on his Facebook page.

In the draft, the maximum permitted amount under the National Ordinance on the Standardization of Top Incomes is increased by almost 100,000 guilders per year, thereby rescinding the 25% reduction as of July 1st. If approved, the amount will be increased from 295,000 to 385,000 guilders per year, which is related to the phasing out of temporary COVID solidarity measures.

Silvania requests the head of WJZ to respond no later than June 9th, so that the amendment can be confirmed and published in a timely manner. The verdict in the lawsuit filed by top specialists from the Curaçao Medical Center against the government is scheduled for June 14th.
