Ambulance services soon under CMC

WILLEMSTAD - Fundashon di Ambulans (FKA) will be transferred to the holding Curacao Medical Center (CMC) before the end of the year. This is according to chairman of the board Alvin Daal, top official at the Ministry of Justice.

According to Daal, this transition will be the intermediate step towards full integration in the CMC. This was the wish of the staff and the trade unions CBV and ABVO. This could lead to the possibility of deploying more nurses back and forth.

In addition, the ambulance staff can more easily participate in training courses and expertise advancements and ensure that they can save on overhead costs. Administrative activities can then be performed centrally by the CMC. “Once under the holding, it is easier to fully integrate into the CMC afterwards,” Daal explains.

The Supervision and Standardization Office (SBTNO) will advise on the adjustments of the foundation to the standards of corporate governance.

Subsequently, the general director and the Supervisory Board can be appointed and the staff can then be employed by the FKA. At the moment there is an interim management team consisting of a doctor, HR manager and a business administrator to manage about 50 staff members who work for FKA.
