WILLEMSTAD - This year more than 500 people who work for contractors on the Isla refinery site have been dismissed. That is more than half of all contractors who are affiliated with the SGTK trade union.

Union leader Alcides Cova explained yesterday in parliament that many of the contractors who are still working do not get money from the Isla. Fearing that they will no longer get work, they will remain silent.
