Accomplice Taghi arrested by police in Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - Gregory F. was arrested by the Curaçao police last weekend. This was at the request of the Netherlands. He is suspected of international drug trafficking. F. is considered a criminal contact of Ridouan Taghi.

Gregory F. was arrested at a hotel in Jan Thiel, in connection with a large drug case. According to justice, Taghi sent F. a message in 2015 about weapons found in Nieuwegein in the Netherlands. The message traffic also took place on September 9, 2015, after the murder of spy shop owner Ronald Bakker. Taghi informs Gregory F. of the murder. The messages sent have been added to the Marengo criminal file.

Gregory F. is suspected of involvement in large-scale international drug trafficking. F. would also have a role in the 2010 'Carnelian' investigation, and he would be a partner of Ennetcom: telephones with which criminals can send messages to each other. Ridouan Taghi also used such a telephone.

F. will soon be transferred to the Netherlands. His lawyer declined to comment on the arrest.
