WILLEMSTAD – During a recent traffic check in various areas of the island, the police handed out 33 fines.

Areas were the police held their traffic checks were the road to the airport and Schottegat East. A total of 60 cars were stopped. 37 people were also requested to identify themselves in the process of finding illegal aliens.

Some of the infractions committed by these 33 drivers were driving without a valid license, expired insurance, invalid government inspection card, no safety belt, and expired license place.

The officers also checked for drivers talking on the phone while driving and driving through red light.
