WILLEMSTAD - The weeks of delay in collecting garbage is caused by broken equipment. Selikor reports this in a statement.

The waste management company says it has major problems with its trucks due to the heavy rainfall. No fewer than 19 garbage trucks had to go to the garage. But there was no space there and repair work had to take place outside which was not possible because of the rain. At one point there were only five trucks left that had to do all the work.

Work continued in the evenings and now also on Saturdays and Sundays. Hopefully, the backlog will be eliminated this week.
