WILLEMSTAD - The Primary Care Curaçao Foundation has inaugurated a new Prevention Center focused on diabetes, expanding its health services beyond the existing General Practitioners’ Post (HAP). The Ministry of Finance announced the launch on Tuesday via a press release.
The Prevention Center aims to promote public health and wellness through preventive care and early intervention, prioritizing diabetes management as its initial focus. The center has integrated the diabetes services of the Analytisch Diagnostisch Centrum (ADC), which has developed a high-quality diabetes care program aligned with the center’s vision. By taking over ADC's service and growing its team, the Prevention Center marks a significant step in combating diabetes on the island.
Currently, the Prevention Service operates from the HAP location on Pater Euwensweg, utilizing the space when the HAP is closed. Future plans include expanding to other locations, with a new branch set to open soon in Bandabou.
