Omicron JN.1 Covid-19 Booster Available for High-Risk Groups in Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD Starting Monday, high-risk groups in Curaçao can receive the new Covid-19 booster targeting the Omicron JN.1 variant. The Ministry of Health, Environment, and Nature (GMN) announced on Friday that the booster will be administered at the Public Health Service (G&GZ), formerly GGD, located at Piscaderaweg 49 in Zakito. 

Eligibility for the Booster 

The booster is prioritized for individuals in specific high-risk categories, including: 

People aged 60 and older. 

Individuals aged 18–59 with obesity or weakened immune systems. 

Healthcare workers with direct patient contact. 

Residents of care facilities and individuals with mental disabilities. 

Vaccination Schedule and Requirements 

The booster will be available from Monday to Friday during the following hours: 

Morning: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM 

Afternoon: 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM 

GMN emphasized that at least three months must have passed since an individual's last Covid-19 vaccination or a positive Covid-19 test before receiving the booster. 

The initiative aims to provide enhanced protection for vulnerable populations as global health authorities continue monitoring new Covid-19 variants.
