WILLEMSTAD – Minister of Health, Environment, and Nature, Javier Silvania, has signed a National Decree approving the purchase of two brand-new mobile dental clinics. The announcement was made on World Oral Health Day, which is observed annually on March 20.
To mark the occasion, Minister Silvania visited the existing mobile dental clinic, which was stationed at Brionplein for the day. He also underwent a dental check-up and a short treatment by a dental hygienist.
The goal of acquiring the two additional mobile clinics is to expand access to preventive dental care for children, adolescents, the elderly, and vulnerable groups in Curaçao. The Brazilian company MarcoPolo won the public tender for the project, offering the best combination of price and technical specifications.
With the decree now signed, the new mobile dental units can be ordered and delivered in the near future. Once operational, they will join the existing dental bus in serving communities across Curaçao, with a particular focus on schools.
