Dutch Government adopts cautious approach toward Curaçao Medical Center

WILLEMSTAD - The Dutch government is adopting a cautious approach regarding the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC), amid growing concerns from medical specialists about the future of healthcare on the island and the departure of medical staff. Recent media coverage in the Netherlands, including reports by Financieel Dagblad, has highlighted these issues.

Despite the concerns, Secretary of State Zsolt Szabó assured that the Curaçao government is making significant efforts to stabilize the situation at the CMC. Szabó expressed confidence that progress is being made, indicating that the situation is improving.

Szabó's comments came after a meeting of the Council of Ministers. Dutch Parliament members have recently shown interest in whether the Netherlands might offer support to the hospital. However, Carlson Manuel, the representative minister from Curaçao, clarified that no formal request for assistance has been made to the Netherlands.
