WILLEMSTAD - 88,000 people in Curaçao are eligible for a booster shot. This may already be given after three instead of six months after the last vaccination.
The first group of more than 30,000 are the over-60s. According to the health authorities, these booster shots are important to make the population resistant to the highly contagious omikron variant. People who have had COVID-19 are also advised to get a booster shot.
At the moment, 96,000 people on Curaçao have been fully vaccinated, 7,500 people will soon receive their second shot.
